Not Really Gone

You were there
like a beacon of light.
Shining in the dark
a corner of sunshine.

Like a drop of water,
your thoughts made
ripples throughout.

You touched, more lives,
than you can imagine.

Your love and laughter
encouraged and lifted.

You left us so suddenly,
there was no time.

I found myself searching,
Looking to see if it was a joke.

There was no joke.
So many tears shed.

You left a legacy that
keeps giving and giving.

I am blessed to have shared
some moments, some tears.

I know you watch over us all.

We love and miss you.

Never goodbye, just until later.

Man, there's not much that can bring a happy tear to my eye, but this did. Thanks for this.

"a corner of sunshine",
I love that.
And we loved him- in the limited but real way you can love someone based on their words alone.

And he loved us.

And I grateful...for his words, for his time...and for the new friendships his legacy led us to.

SO well said- thanks for telling me about this! Hugs :)

Okay, I am trying to get this on his page. Damn these widgets!

Oh damn. That was me, Enemy. I was setting up your poem on Baron's page and I just went to your page to see how you had set it up. I forgot that I was logged in as him. Please, folks, don't let that creep you out. Just me--I couldn't be Baron if I tried. I just get called on for all the computer hacking jobs! Oh Lord. I'm creeped out!

Forgive me, Bardouble--dog, I felt stupid. If you want any other changes, let me know. Anyway, he is still with us; maybe there are blogs in heaven.

You did good with this poem. The strucutre slowly breaking down from stanzas to couplets to single lines drive home the emotion and grief for one soul, and you symbolically narrow it down to one line to highlight this. Great poem.
